Roberta Cannon

Roberta Cannon was born and raised on Cape Cod. She is a registered nurse with a varied background that includes pediatrics, maternal child health, hospice, and case management. Roberta developed a passion for writing when she wrote about her experience with breast cancer in 2000. She has been a local reporter and freelance writer since then writing for publications like the Falmouth and Mashpee Enterprise newspapers, MD News and Primetime Magazine. She currently writes a column for the Mashpee Enterprise, Then and Now, about life on Cape Cod in the 1950’s and 1960’s. One of her most rewarding experiences is co-leading writing groups for those who have had cancer. When she is not writing, Roberta enjoys reading, gardening and the view of a saltwater river across from her home. She has two adult children and a sun loving Boston Terrier.
